Courage to Be Your Best Self
“Courage is the price that Life extracts for granting peace.” – Amelia Earhart
I love this quote. I think it’s so true, and yet it’s so not what our instincts lead us to believe. We think that by playing it safe, by keeping our cards close to our chest, by trying to be what we think we should be instead of maximizing who we really are, that we’re doing the smart thing. But the tension we carry with us when we’re not being “real” robs of truly experiencing the sweetness of success. It takes courage to be your best self. To identify what you need. To say what’s true for you. To take full responsibility for your choices and actions. To truly connect to others.
Amelia may have disappeared into thin air. But she disappeared doing what she loved and was put on the planet to do – inspiring generations of young women along the way. What a legacy. We may never know what happened to her, but I suspect she’s resting in peace.
